Alternative Options

Addiction Counselling

If you have the money available or live somewhere where you can find it for free, then Drug or Addiction Counselling can be a really good option for some.

Do a local Google search for services such as –

  • Counselling groups for addiction
  • Psychotherapy

These services should be Non-Judgemental and may well help you to work out where your dependency comes from and help you deal with the root cause and problems of your addiction if you have any.

This is a very good route to take, but be aware that you will likely need several sessions so can work out costly.




Rehabilitation clinics will supply a variety of methods to help you, but will be very costly and in truth may be a bit over the top to solve just a marijuana habit. However if the cause of your habit stems from something deep in your psyche then this may be a good route for you.

G.P.’s – Your Doctor

Some doctors may well be understanding and offer you pharmaceutical solution for some of your symptoms, if they can see what the problem really is. There is currently no FDA  or MHRA approved drug specifically for marijuana dependence.

Most doctors are likely recommend some kind of counselling (see above).

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) of the United Kingdom (UK) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States of America (US) under whose instructions for medication G.P.s are bound, are unable to prescribe a full alternative that works, there are only a few prescribed drugs that are designed to replace its possible benefits for sufferers such as those with MS etc.
